KENNEDY ISLAND
Kennedy Island is the most famous Island in the Solomons, it is here the late John F Kennedy was shipwrecked after a fierce sea battle during World War Two. Upon surviving his ordeal he then went on to become the president of the United States of America! Kennedy Island has relics from wartime combat scattered throughout the island and also a monument that describes in detail John F Kennedy's history on the island.
EXPLORATION
Fierce combat took place in this area of the Solomon Islands during World War Two, there are many war wreckages that are easily accessible from the resort. Two of the more famous wrecks are of the hellcat fighter plane which now is located at around 15 metres depth in the ocean and the Toa Maru, a 144 metre long naval ship which is located just below the surface of a tranquil lagoon.
